Watch Remember Me Online
If Robert Pattinson seems like a James Dean redux, you may be on to something. If you’re having Rebel Without a Cause flashbacks when you watch Remember Me online, it’s with good reason.
Remember Me is the 23-year-old British actor’s wide-release feature film that opens in the midst of a vampire phenomenon that’s largely attributed to him. Watch Remember Me online and you’ll see him in a role that may be rare these days, but only temporarily. Starring as Edward Cullen in the Twilight film series, Pattinson is currently the reigning heartthrob-du-jour. In an interview recently with Access Hollywood, he confided that, in fact, James Dean had been his inspiration for his portrayal of the teen vampire.
Though Pattinson has been uber-successful in his Twilight role, Remember Me will be a test of his longevity as an actor, and if he’s channeling Dean to inspire his performance, he might have hit the jackpot with this role. The new movie is a romantic drama that stars Pattinson as (what else?) a rebellious NYC-teen, at odds with his well-to-do father, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan. He meets and falls in love with Emilie de Ravin, whose father is a police officer. Watch Remember Me online and you’ll see Oscar-winner Chris Cooper as de Ravin’s father. Cooper is probably THE symbol for government/father/authority roles in movies these days, and Brosnan, with a starring role in three different films released in the last 30 days, is quickly building the same type of film presence. With that caliber of authority to defy, a new James Dean is more than called for.
It’s worth noting that, if watching Remember Me online is to be believed, Pattinson doesn’t take things over the top, as in the Twilight films. His physical resemblance to Dean is almost uncanny, from the hair right down to the facial expression of teen angst. In fact, his performance when you watch Remember Me online might actually be better than what Dean’s might have been, but who knows?
Of course, only time will tell if Pattinson can find career longevity outside “the teeth”. Watch Remember Me online and you’ll see that he’s got much more working for him than just time. Or teeth.
